Johnny is a bundle of joy, a shining star--
Whose love and courage has reached, near and far!
He is a little boy of wisdom, bravery, and hope;
Despite his handicaps, he's taught others to cope!
In a wheelchair, growing weaker each & every day,
But despite that, his sunny outlook will surely stay!
He is not a quitter, but he is, instead, a little joy----
This beautiful child, this darling little 9-year-old boy!
Johnny has had much strife in his young life,
But he refuses to be struck by death's cruel knife!
He lives for the moment, he has much to say----
Instead of crying, he'd much rather sing or play!!
Why complain, says he; it won't do any good----
Treat me with compassion, as any person should!
Yes, it's NOT fair that he has muscular dystrophy,
But PLEASE treat Johnny with respect and dignity!
He knows he is dying, but survival is his quest;
Just let him try to succeed in passing life's test!
He knows he is dying, but he also has a chance--
For he is saved, and in Heaven he'll sing and dance!
This poem is dedicated to my new friend, Anita Graves. Anita Graves is a lady who has muscular dystrophy. She uses a motorized wheelchair, and she sometimes has trouble with her breathing. Please keep Anita in your prayers and thoughts, and pray that a cure for muscular dystrophy..and ALL neuromuscular diseases--is found..SOON!!!!!!
Anita, I am so glad I met you, and I am SO glad you are a Christian who knows and loves our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! May God bless you mightily, always, and may your faith and courage continue to shine for others!! Love and God's Blessings to you..your new friend, Karen Lynn. (((((HUGS))))) :)
