Champion

The faces are faded
In the artificially lit canopy
Memories of a girl who was no more
Stamped out
By her present form.
The days are dying
And at midnight a new one born
Each day closer to Mokasha?
Or with rebirth the closure of true form?
Those days were mine
My winnings displayed on the walls
But will this champion play again?
Will she save Christopher Reeve,
Or is she to become him?
A dying dream.
The day dies again tonight
But I didn't win today.
Not even close.

I am not understanding much either of this.
All I possibly on the subject is this song.

"They Don't Give Out Medals"

They don't give out medals
for those who never win,
After the race is over,
Then the hurting begins.

Chorus .....

There's no stars for heartbreak - or coming in last,
When all you have to live for - is a dream in the past.

Yes, they don't give out medals
for those who step aside,
It's all in the winning,
Not how hard you tried.

Chorus .....

Oh there's no stars for heartbreak - or coming in last,
When all you have to live for - is a dream in the past.

Bridge .....

If I could live my life - over again,
You'd be in my arms - and I would win,
Love in your heart - love without end,
For you'd never let - my hurting begin.

But I can't change
the hand I've been dealt,
So just keep your trophy,
Put it back on the shelf.

Chorus .....

Cause there's no stars for heartbreak - or coming in last,
When all you have to live for - is a dream in the past.

Yes, they don't give out medals
for those who step aside,
It's all in the winning,
Not how hard you tried.
