THE FRIENDSHIP TREE
Delight, sorrow, confessions or confusion,
Opinions, disappointments or grandiose conclusions,
Simple problems, or those more complex,
Times when we wonder what’s coming next,
All cause us to run to our tree, our shelter of trust,
Where the vast branches create a haven for us.
In shady comfort we share all of our emotions,
Innermost doubts, and sometimes-silly notions.
Be it darkness or light that our souls reveal,
We openly expose our lives and what we feel.
Reverent or giddy - whatever our mood might be,
We share it all under the shelter of our friendship tree.
