Put On

Put on something pretty
something short and tight
do up all the dishes
make the kids act right
wiggle when you walk
And never try to talk

Put on something pretty
something short and tight
clean up the living room
and kiss the kids goodnight
smile through the tears
pretend everything’s all right

Put on something pretty
something short and tight
tell him that you need him
and he’s in your dreams at night
never say what’s on your mind
you know he’s not that kind

Put on something pretty
something short and tight
put on something pretty
there’s no reason left to fight
put on something pretty
try to make it through the night

Clever words, "Put on something pretty, something short and tight." Words not meant to be clever ... expressing a simple truth of your need for him to show you the attention that will bridge your lonliness. Were it I, it would surely work. I hope it could work for him. Bill (hugs).

Hi Beth,

I hit the send button before I could say what I wanted, LOL. (Janet here) I have lived this life and I know what it is about. You write very well, I wish you all of the best. Take care, JC xoxoxo
