Spirits touching across the room
Strangers though they are
A face unknown in present time
Comes back from afar
A life before the one we know
Generations past
Spirits touching intimately
Leaving me aghast
Lost bodies in a crowded room
Still our spirits touch
I feel your heart reach out to mine
Desiring so much
A sensual touch in my heart
Tells me you are near
I look around to see your face
Someone I hold dear
And there you are across the room
Staring straight at me
A face I’ve never seen before
I know what I see
All alone in this crowded room
I can’t draw a breath
Your lingering eyes lock with mine
Coming back from death
I hear you speak my name so soft
Though you make no sound
With each beat, my heart calls your name
Forever we are bound
I cross the crowded room so fast
Calling out your name
Unfamiliar syllables
Make me feel insane
Our spirits rushing to embrace
Parted for so long
Lovers parted by tragedy
Death was our last song
