Come on ...Come on...start working so I won't feel..
Take away the pressures..Take away whats real.
Carry me to another world where sisters never die..
Where Daddys always stay and Mamas never cry.
Let me feel the freedom ...not the horrors of life..
Years living on the streets hiding behind a knife.
Struggling every day to just exist..not live..
Life has took it all...I have nothing left to give.

Come on...Come on...start working, I need you bad.
Don't want to feel this makes me too sad.
Life sucks least that is what they say..
This helps me get through one more day.
Hurry..before the demons crawl at my door..
They think they're gonna get me just like before.
O start working ...this pain is getting stronger..
Don't know if I can hold on much longer.

Oh, the relief of the feelings of this high..
I think I can almost reach the sky.
Oh yes! I can feel the demons going away...
Lay on back and just come what may.
Hooked on this drug ..body and soul..
Would weather have this than a woman to hold.
Swirling in my own world ..Relief of the pain..
Forgetting the life I live is driving me insane.

Linda Hill 2002

So many of our youths and also adults are hooked on a drug that could one day destroy them. Pray for their healing...Drugs are NOT the answer.

Well done Linda, this is such a terrible waste, all these drugs, and the pain and suffering it causes, a true crying shame.
your capturing here of their blinkered obsession to their kick is gut wrenching.
again very well done Linda, your work is amazing.reading this reminds me of something i wrote a while back on the same subject called "Chasing the Dragon"...that was written for someone close, so i know first hand the depths one sinks to to get their high...i may re-post it,so you can se that your not alone in your condemnation, and contempt for something as evil as that shit...Take care of you and yours...Mark xx

Wonderful Write ... This is what eat the world ... it startes with an individual ... and it eat a family ... it expands into the world and eat one after another ... But why is this so ... Is this bcoz of improper guidance of parents ... or improper teachings at the schools or is it bcoz of the flowing money ...

The world is so cruel that ... when god created good people ... god didnt forget to give birth to criminals and other nasty animals into this world ...

The age through which the younger generation travel is through throns and its of sure that each individual if its he / she can move into wrong direction ... Bcoz of the gods creations of Criminals and Nasty Human animals.

Who bring the Drugs into the college and now a days into schools ? Dont u think they are the poeple who are to be thrown off from this wonderful world ...

..... Well i can only write this lines ... no one can totally remove criminals from the world ... This is 21st century where wrong words Like Cheating ... Rape ... Fucking ... Killing ... Revenge ... etc etc ... plays better part in like than friendship .. love ... care ... etc etc ...

Wish all happiness and love for all those Poets Like Linda Mae Hill and other good poets who care more about the better half of the world and good future of youngsters ...

Linda ... U have done a good work by writing this write ... Keep it up and take care ...

How is ur health ... Hope u are having a wonderful drive now a days ... ;) Keep Smiling and take care ...

drugs ARE bad news; and the picture, graphic it may be, definitely fits the mood of the poem! great write about a timely topic that is still a big problem in our country today! thanks for sharing! love, your friend, karen lynn. ((((HUGS)))) :)

You have caught the essence of the thing Linda. I often used to wonder that lack of love and care is the reason for the youth to go for drugs.

At least that is the way it is here. When both parents are working and have no time for the kids, they look for love and peace else where and end up hooked.

Love from your best friend - Joel -

Such a heart rending situation. How awful
to even look at the graphic picture placed
above. How it makes my eyes want to avert
what I see. Graphic yes, but this is
brought home to often in our magazines,
newspapers and TV news; that I feel a
slight revulsion in looking at the scene.
And maybe it pulls my mind away from this
wonderful Lady's story about this horrible
struggle. Linda Mae you write so many
moving stories about the tragedies of
life. And this is one of them. You write
to touch the heart, and you always touch my
heart. I am so sorry I was angry with
you. You are ideal and wonderful and
excelllent in your efforts to write the
wrongs in society. You are like poor Don
Quixote De La Mancha charging at
windmills. But I am sure you will make
more progress than he did. I miss you
Linda very much. I have been so wrong in
my life but never wronger than now.
Maybe I can join you somewhere in life and
be your sidekick like Sancho Panza was to
Don Quixote and we can charge windmills
together righting all the worlds wrongs.
You always have my heart and you know
that. Bill hugs and love and kisses.

No, drugs just make it worse.
Once hooked on drugs people think
it's impossible to kick them, but anyone
can stop the drug when they make up their
mind. Thanks for sharing Linda....
