STORY Behind the POEM:
A man's assessment of himself.
Buried the feelings in the depth of mind,
I conjured up a star,
Which sealed my weakness and scars:
A face, icy and calm,
Allowing me to observe, without having to act...
A cloak of trust
Secured my believes and thoughts...
A helmet of freedom
Allowed me to hide in my own kingdom...
A sword of sarcasm
Helped me to counter all the painful remarks...
A shield of cruelty
Separated me from the unwanted sympathies...
For a long period of my life, I hide behind the shadow of my star, waiting for the scars to heal. As you all know, scars heal faster if you expose them to air and oxygen, and that's what I've learned. Now the time's here, and I'm ready to shatter the star, and stand up on my own.
