Whilst on Your Journey
by Oakling (c) 2002

I stumbled upon a little man
And he was so indignant!
You see had I stepped just to the right
I might have squashed his existence.

I knelt down
Despite his cursings,
To apologize
For my unnervings.

But when he raised his eyes to mine,
To my surprise his frown faded.
And joy replaced
All feelings jaded.

"My Lady have we met before?"
He asked in voice of stature
"Why no…I don't believe dear sir…"
But hold back he could no longer.

"Well yes we have I do believe"
"In every wooded pass"
"For there your hands are in those leaves
So fragile like the glass."

And In that river I hear your heart
Beat stronger every day.
Did I not see your eyes
Last night whilst I gazed?

To my amazement he kept on talking
Till I had to laugh…
"How could you know me so well?"
I felt I needed to ask.

"You see my dear,
Your eyes see true …
I am here and so are you.
We are together a myth to many,
But with Her you walk aplenty."

"I see Her in your face this day
And maybe more will walk your way,
For seeing the little things in life
Will bring all closer to the light."

"Your strength I find in the trees,
Your will lies in the stones.
Your footsteps I hear in the wind
And energy, feel in my bones."

"Will we meet again?" I ask,
"That is up to you."
"Keep with Her and this dear Earth…
Your eyes will always see true ."

I looked away to find my path
Then turned to say goodbye.
I found nothing where he once stood,
Sadness filled my eyes.

I stood to continue my journey,
But hope did mend.
I swore I heard footsteps
Mixed into the wind.

I hope whilst on your journey,
You step cautiously.
You never know whom you might meet,
Once your eyes see truly.

Oh, I like this one also!!! I often have deeper conversations with the trees then I do with humans!
