upon the mind desire
burning so out of control
as to torture and inspire
what the heart may hold,

in the dark the secrets
are born and never told
of the flesh and the seekers
what the spirit might hold,

that in us all the undeniable
as the torment does begin
the kindled flesh is fireable
when exposed to the spark of sin,

there is the need to control
the slave who would submit
as if bought and then sold
to lust one must commit,

to say love is an understatement
that snaps even as the whip
pain and pleasure without abatement
causing the morals to flip,

that from the norm is strayed
in seductive steps of more
from what the flesh has played
and for what else is in store....

very true, intense, there is that in all of us. This one hit and hurt...but it's such a beautiful pain. ~~~Linnie

we must persue the demons within ourselves and confronting them realize they are relly angels sent to deliver us... the flesh must get to know itself... i think this is an excellent expression on the duality of human nature...

quite stunning, richard, dark and...yet, i agree w/Roger, also...
the poem, itself...just a stuuner...
'to say love is an understatement that snaps even as the whip...' and the last line, oh leaves one just...just dumbfounded/awed in fear?/anticipation of...?
strange, but truth is really not a pretty thing, is it? & pleasure/pain...sometimes is what makes us so vulnerable to the haunted aspects of our own personal human experience...bravo on this one, dark, very...but the raw honetsy you are not afraid to show...( as for de sade...have you seen "Quills"...very well done ... and reminscent of this piece) bravo for a frightening/awesome piece here...+++

While sado-masochistic relations are not my cup of tea, I wonder if there is not a masochistic element in most human relationships.
