Somewhere deep in the jungle lives
a wild child
with the moon in her eyes

somewhere in the jungle lives
a lonely hearts terror
with no need for lullabies

deep deep in this jungle
amidst the trees
this wild child
swings from the leaves

her feet
never
touch the ground

she has no pain

nothing
could bring
her down

somewhere deep in the jungle lives
a tameless little girl
flowers and leaves in her hair

somewhere deep in that jungle lives
a wild child
who has learned not to care

This also could be the apt description of some children who don't live "somewhere deep" in a jungle, but in the streets of so many cities--
"a wild child
who has learned not to care"

Wild and happy? With all the wildness in her? Lovely poem. Full of sentiment and your beliefs. Bill

Great job of setting the scene and engaging the reader in the world of the wild child.
