On a beautiful September day
evil invaded our land
when a terrorist
destroyed thousands of lives

For many of us
were the husbands, wives,
sons, daughters or moms and dads
of the heroes that were killed

And some of us
were just fellow Americans
who were horrified
that a terrorist could take away
that which we hold most sacred--
or security

But you did not break us
We will stand tall
We will come out on top
We will win

You tried to force us
down on our knees
but you failed
You have not broken our spirit

You have forgotten one thing

You think we are such
an awful nation?

Who helped your country
when the worst human atrocities
were committed
on your family, friends and neighbors?

The United States of America

Who came to the rescue
when your enemy country
dropped bombs
on your neigborhood?

The United States of America

Who was it
that helped you out
when your children
had nothing to eat?

The United States of America

And that is how
we are still

United

Standing tall and proud
Proud to be living in a country
that celebrates our differences
instead of persecutes you for them

And when our children
ask us,
"Why won't Mommy or Daddy
be coming home?"
What will we say?

"There was a man
who had hatred in his heart
instead of love."
Yes, I said man,
not Muslim or Jew or even foreigner
You are just a man--
a man with the compunction
to think he can play God!

You see while you may see
Americans fighting on TV
on street corners
everyday
You forgot one thing

While we annoy each other
sometimes to the max
we still respect each other
as human beings
with a right to live our lives
the way we choose

And on any other day
we might not give
each other the time
of day

But you mess with us
just one of us
in any city
across America
and suddenly
you have
messed with every American in
every city in every state
And what does that make you?

Public enemy #1

We are Americans
We will be heartbroken
We will not surrender
to a bunch of cowards

Rest assured
we will pull out
every available arsenal
to put you down and out of business

You wil not win

We will not allow cowards
to prosper

We are Americans
and we stand united
as always

We are and always shall be
The United States of America
