Fiction short stories predominantly humor, irony, with some history, nostalgia and poignancy. Many are in rural settings. Earthy implies close to the earth..
Sometimes love is just a smoky haze
Leaves you defenseless and in a daze
Till the clouds all clear and drift away
And you know there's nothing you can say
Love won't hesitate to say goodbye
And leave you crying out to the sky
It forgets what it ever fell for
Walks without a care straight out the door
Sometimes love leaves you asking questions
Because you've committed no vast sins
As beautiful as it is up there
Real and everlasting Love is rare
So keep at least one foot on the ground
And healthy temperance will be found
'Cause even the deepest happiness
Can leave you there with so much to miss
That's why you've gotta keep your chin up
You'll miss the sun if you don't look up
Through all the rain, keep looking ahead
You've gotta get up, don't stay in bed
They'll lie and they'll leave and not be there
Till you find someone who really cares
Who never did lose sight of the path
Who puts you first without any math
What we need is pure and simple Love
True commitment without push and shove
That's when you know it's real and special
They wouldn't do a thing but stand still
That's when it won't take any effort
To know they would never make you hurt
And you turn your face up to the sun
It always shines when you're with that one
I don't really know where this came from, but it came from somewhere, so I wrote it, lol.
