I guess there’s something to be said
For the lovin’ of the poetic man.
Reciting lines of verse through the night …
(I hope he can keep my attention span!)
And the philosopher’s conversations
Surely offer challenges to my mind,
Providing intellectual stimulation,
Instead of the more exciting physical kind.
BUT, I gotta say:
There’s something about a mechanic
Coveralls clinging to his chest so tight.
Large, calloused hands grip his tools.
He revs my engine full speed to utter delight.
There’s something about a cowboy
With his “yes ma’am’s” and gentle, mannerly way
With his wranglers hugging his butt
Next best thing to lovin’ him is watching him walk away.
There’s something about a man in a hard hat
Climbing on girders up on the high rise
I want to run my hands all over his beams
Watching his building erection arise.
There’s something about a man on a Harley
That makes my eagle scream.
He’s the kind of man I want to straddle
For a ride that’s a V-Rod supreme.
There’s something about a soldier man
His starched uniform gets honorable mention.
I want to wrinkle his creases until
All the right parts are standing at attention.
Yes, I appreciate the scholarly man
And the lovely words of the poetic type
But when it comes to good, hard lovin’
I want more action and much less hype!
