Moments of Time

Did you see that moment of time?
It seemed in such a hurry
to be on it’s appointed way.
Laughing and weeping combine
to send it off in a flurry,
but I’ld like it to stay.

Can you believe that child of mine?
She never seems weary,
her days are devoted to play.
How do we dare measure time?
In the lives of our children,
we see our own slipping away.

Where are my moments of time?
They’ve become blurry,
I’ld like them to stay.

At least our memories keep our own moments in time intact until we kick the bucket. We cannot return to them, but they will always be there as long you remember.
Great piece!
Cheers,
Tim

I use to try to hold on to them but alas that failed so now I allow them to pass on their way to where spent time finds it's home.

I think you already answered your own question, Erin. Where are our moments in time?...Why...they still live on... but through the eyes of our children to perpetuate the visions and emotions that we had in the past to beyond yesterday. That takes nothing away from us for we still have memories and we as writers still can keep those alive by memorializing them for all time for others to share.
