sacred hearts whisper

the whipering of hearts of love sacred and beautiful.

two shadows whisper thoughts in the moonlight
of lovers musing rainbow poetry in neapolitan colors
hearing the sighs of robins, i take scarlet ribbons
tie them in your hair, a tiara for a lovely woman.

i should not be your prince as you are a princess fair --
we are two people in the night
sharing hearts in twilight, quietly caressing each other's soul
i take a book to place before your feet.

a small pedestal to raise you inches to me, equals at heart
to kiss your pouting smile, embrace the need in your eyes
we're companions and friends but there is spark of wonder
a place for you in my heart to share your secret dreams

a kinship in heartache and happiness,
playfully analyzing the other choices in love
when we're holding the other like a spouse
chatting about the days affairs -

it is in this hour I could hold you forever
i wonder if you feel the same
words fail me hovering on the edge of my lips,
my arms enfold you close to my loving heart.
