Sister

I don't know if you remember
when you taught me the Lords prayer;
or how many hours you spent
combing out my hair.

I don't know if you remember
all the stories that you read;
or how many songs you sung
when you sung to me in bed.

I don't know if you remember
all the poems you helped me say;
or how many times
I fought with you each day.

I don't know if you remember
but I know I do;
how many times I thanked God
for a sister just like you.
