LSD

I listen to the sounds
the clouds paint across the grass
as I lift my head - somewhere today
and wish I had a spaceship;
so I could see the planets.
(I know they buzz red
in 3/4 time.)

The crickets chirp
abstract blue.

Alone, a lilly strikes an open G.

A tiny violet shouts, "Purple cubes!".

Straw dancers spin.
Then silence creeps in
on rain dripping feet.

Dripping orange
songbirds fling
notes down to earth.

Then come the black velvet chords of night.

Beautiful poem. Loved it. Was it really LSD-induced? :)
