Ronee':
Just what IS Christmas, you often may ask.
Well, I and Johnny will undertake this task.
Christmas is a holiday, that is so very true ;
But it is more; and we'd like to share this with you.
Christmas is the season for shopping and stuff;
It seems that people spend more than enough!!
Christmas is family, spending time with loved ones,
And being friendly and nice to each and everyone.
Christmas is snow, ice, and cold weather;
It's the perfect time to spend time together!
Christmas is listening to choirs sing of Jesus' Birth;
And hoping for joy and goodwill and peace on earth.
But for me it means celebrating Jesus' Birthday;
But too many people forget that; this is just a day.
It means MY birthday; I'm a Christmas Day Child;
And when people forget my birthday, I go WILD!!
Johnny:
Christmas, to me, means peace on earth,
And celebrating our Dear Saviour's Holy Birth.
Christmas also means waiting for Santa Claus;
And hearing the clicking of tiny reindeer paws.*
Christmas means opening presents galore;
And wondering if we'll get anything more!
Christmas means eating until we're ready to pop,
And playing endlessly until sleep makes us drop.
Christmas means watching football games on tv,
And spending precious time with your family.
And Christmas means love, joy, and hope,
And knowing with God's Help, we'll be able to cope!
Christmas means The Grinch on the ol' tv;
And glad that I don't know him personally!
And Christmas means getting time off from school;
And sledding down ice or snowy hills like fools!
Ronee':
Christmas means visiting sick people who are sad;
And when you do, it makes them all so very GLAD!
Christmas means giving a stranger a smile,
And when you do, you'll feel good after a while.
Christmas means programs at school,
And knowing the meaning of the word "Yule".
Christmas means holiday lights this time of year,
And a feeling of happiness and holiday cheer.
Christmas means cookies and sweet treats,
And trying a new way to eat some turkey meat.
And Christmas means cards; you get a bunch;
And looking forward to eating Christmas Day lunch!
Johnny:
Christmas means wearing your holiday best,
And putting up with ties, slacks, or a vest.
Christmas means getting your cheeks pinched,
And hoping that you won't get tricked.."grinched"!
Christmas means Rudolph and Frosty, too..
And watching "It's a Wonderful Life"..BOO-HOO!!
Christmas means seeing your cousins,
And your aunts and uncles, all by the dozens!
Christmas means stories, tales of holidays past,
And hoping deep inside that it will forever last.
Christmas means holly and wreaths and pine trees,
And watching people being busy as honeybees.
Ronee':
Yes, Christmas is this and a whole lot more;
But it means more than shopping at any store.
Johnny:
For Christmas CAN'T be bought; it's what's inside;
And inside your heart is where JESUS does reside!
Johnny and Ronee' (together):
For Jesus was born with a Purpose in His Life:
He was born to save mankind from sin and strife!!
If you accept Him, you'll be safe from harm or fear;
And you won't have to worry about Satan's sneers!
*~*~*~*~MERRY CHRISTMAS!!~*~*~*~*

author's note: Johnny meant "reindeer hooves", but I had to make something rhyme with "Santa Claus"; plus Johnny didn't know what to call "reindeer feet"! :)

Cute write and fun to read. Karen you have done it again.
I still enjoy Christmas. For me, my Christmas begins at the time when I shop for others, and give to others.
Enjoyed this wonderfully-written piece greatly!!!!!
