holding my coffee cup
warmed by the steam
observing the landscape
of nature like things

the predator hawks
have taken leave
and morning song birds
have come to feed

i pour water for the bath
delighting with the splashing
enjoying the harmony
i refill the feeder with seed

a cotton tail rabbit
nibbles on greens
kindness in her eyes
and love on her mind

a squirrel stands near
twitching his tail
chattering of bounty
his love never fails

how soft the world
seems today
take a sip of my coffee
another thankfilled day

i let my thoughts wander
Emanuel comes
with cherbs of angels
they sing me hold on

an elder preaches
wear your heart on your face
listen to your soul
and your world will be graced

our precious minutes together
sharing this morning's star
away - never goes love
but lingers within ourselves soft
