I ask, "What is there to be thankful for?"
"Life to me is such a bore."

The more I sit, the more I think.
"What's wrong here? Where's the missing link?"

We work so hard, but the bills keep piling.
No wonder the worked has stopped smiling.

I sit in the night saying, "When will it end?
When will the peace and the blessing descend?"

Then a voice deep inside whispers in my ear.
"Open your eyes, look around, it's all here”.

Many true friends, who you think have been lost.
In times of trouble, come to you without any cost.

Christmas was not meant to be such a cost.
It's to tell of the man who died on the cross.

The meaning of Christmas has left us all blind.
It's the day the Christ child should be on our minds.

For this world, his life he gave.
It makes me ashamed of how we behave.

But he doesn't seem to say "Oh, what a waste.
I gave up my life in such a great haste."

He keeps his faith and goes on believing.
In a world so full of hate and deceiving.

He hears all our prayers and gives us his best.
Even though sometimes we've failed his test.

He's always beside us, we're never alone.
Even our mistakes that can't be atoned.

So my greatest gift this Christmas is not under the tree.
It didn't cost anything. God gave it for free

For all my love I give on this day.
I'll always find more. I know how to pray.

And I pray that inside you, my love will grow.
And that you will pass it on to others you know.

Then maybe the world will start to appease.
I know with this gift, I've found inner peace.
