The Silent Gift

The Silent Gift

I saw more
than you thought
and knew the torment
of your mind, heart and soul.

I was there
waiting for the storms
that would rage with the winds
that blew out of nowhere.

I watched your world swirl
spiraling like a tornado
on a self-destructive coarse
that splintered hope to fragments.

I was there
nurturing the pieces
placing them carefully
into the pattern of who you are.

I felt your feelings
that surged from this storm,
crashing waves of anguish against
your shore, that drown you to solitude.

I was there
with my heart and hand
reaching to pull you
from the depths into the light.

I knew your needs
and waited patiently
for you to realize
that I would always be here for you.

I am here
with hope that one day
you will see past the obstacles of life
to see the threshold of insight.

I must have a guardian angel looking over my life too. And she must have strong wings to survive the storms I've put her through.
