|I write as compulsively as I can ... for a chance to bring my songs to the world. Sometimes I guess whether they want them or not. But write and write I do. Bill Murray|

|Great work, Julie!! The writer has the power to create and creation equals change taken in others in many forms.

|I love it. You captured it so Hallmarkily ;) (*word I made up*). It's very true, the whole poem. I like Karla's saying because it's really true.
For me, it can no longer be on paper through a journal in my "olden" days (a few years ago when I was all of what, thirteen?) and so now I MUST have my laptop or Palm Pilot with me because if not, there is no way I can express it fast enough!! Sometimes I can use pen/cil for writing, but only if that's all I have. I write a poem so quickly, like many others, my hand isn't fast enough!! But I love this poem because it not only gives the true meaning of the gift for us fellow writers and authors, but it also depicts the history of the writing, pen and paper, and how it feels. A writer in the 17th century compared to one now only differs in style :)

|Julie, writing can be so powerful. For me, it is completely involuntary. I hold tightly my thoughts and emotions, having them spill onto the page only when my will and my grip cannot hold back the tide.
