Soar Like an Eagle by Peter G. Engelman Wednesday, December 04, 2002 Share Print Save Become a Fan Soar Like an Eagle Fly away with me. Flap your wings and soar to heights never imagined. Be like me, sure and confident, strong and courageous . Open your eyes wide as I do and gaze down upon the earth and all it��s inhabitants . See all the inhumanity, starvation and poverty; the weapons of mass destruction and killing fields. Watch the homeless and mentally ill wander aimlessly in the streets. Flair your nostrils and breathe in the polluted air and stench of war-torn bodies decaying in the sand. Cock your head and listen carefully to the wailing of mothers, who have lost their children to street-gangs, drug addiction and abortion. Clench your teeth and bite your lip as you hold back your tears. See the dried tears in my eyes, which have seen it all before. Now, tell me if you enjoyed the ride. Peter, AWESOME poetry! This is one I wish I had written. I write alot about the homeless, the abused, the down and out. I have intense compassion for them. By the grace of God go I. This is going into my library. Your talent is astonding. I will be reading more of you. Blessings, ~Linda
