Our lives are but a silver mirror
Through which our children see
Their own lives down the road of time
And what their futures be.

Their strength comes from our will to live
And hardships we have faced;
Not what we have, but what we give--
Values practiced, not just placed.

Our happiness is theirs as well;
Our struggles are theirs too.
They learn much by our choices made;
They're watching what we do.

By watching how they lived each day,
I learned from Mom and Dad.
The choices that I make today
Are ones they also had.
