If it could only be this Christmas

If it could be, if it could only be.
This Christmas for you and for me!
But it is not yet our time, not this moment to date!
For the Universe right now holds different fate.
There is no rhyme or reason,
Just another holiday season.
But to us being apart,
Is like having sharp daggers thrown at my heart.
The feeling is numb.
I look at my tree and feel rather dumb.
Because you are there
And I am here.
If it could be, if it could only be.
Then I would be with you, and you would be with me!
But we are not free,
Not at this moment in time.
But in the future, I will be yours....
And you will be mine!
