Within your eyes I see the world
My world, my future, my life to come.
I see my children in your face
In the light that you give me.
I look at you across the room
And see all that I will become
All that we shall be together.
Your beauty is heart wrenching,
Abounding and respectful.
How is it that I cannot fathom
This that is the truth in us?
This true ness is the nearest I've come
So far in this caress,
Caress of life and breathing experience.
You bring me nearness that I've never felt.
So near eternal that I feel it on your skin,
Taste it in your breath and cherish
All it is within your gazes.
Everything you are to me is still so inchoate
And, through teary eyes, it cannot be in words.
