It's happened again...
twice in less than a year,
a missing, small family member,
our baby boy,
my Mother's Day kitten...
24 hours and still no sign.

Happening again...
a little death, a tiny soul,
a mourning family,
devastated daughters,
grim reaper slicing off
another bit of my life.

A little death,
happening again, too soon...
he never saw snow, or
a Christmas tree,
I had just been thinking
how he was going to love
the Christmas tree,
hiding in the presents,
peering out, leaping about...

happening again,
little deaths
are killing me.

It hurts every time...

Yes it does hurt, they are just like children....very touching and take care. I am so sorry for your loss.

The picture reminds me of 'erbert (the H was not pronounced) our favourite cat. 'erbert was too adventurous by half and went "walkabout" when he was just a year old. I really fell out with cats after that, none could ever fill his shoes.
Very good poem.

This is sad!!!!! I have managed to train my cat Freddy to be an indoor cat, he is so contented to be just at home around us, he seldom want to go out. When we do take him out, we put him on a leash, and he walks with us like a dog.

I think it is much safer to keep our pets as home pets rather than to let them roam about and be lost.

I'm feeling sad for your loss, I hope you will find him again soon, and that he's not dead yet.

Erin-We lost our dog and it was just like
losing a family member. I'll never forget
the pain my son felt and showed, it was gut wrenching.

Erin, I really feel your pain and loss. I have three cats. One a large male Tabby and to black cats. One is young less than a year old. I never selected any of them. People either gave them to me or they appeared in my yard and never left. I understand what you feel in this loss. I am so sorry. Bill Murray

Hello Erin, I am so sorry to read about the loss of your kitten in "Little Deaths". I apologize for my delayed response. I have been so out of touch lately. Don't be to quick to declare the little fellow gone. He may just be up to discovering life on his own for a bit. Take Care
