When I felt the
presence of another
The hair on the back
of my neck lifted
I watched about me,
wary, careful
When he came to
me from out of the
dark shadows of the garden
He was tall but that
was all I could see of him
with the darkness concealing
him like a cloak
I was still, not even
daring to breath
When he reached me
and I had the courage to
look up into his face
My chest heaved with needing air
But no, it was something else
that made it quiver and shake
His face was exquisite
He could be an angel,
no, he had to be only an
angel could be so finely made
His eyes were sparkling like
ice blue diamonds
His nose and masculine chin
perfect in every way
And never have I seen hair as
full and beautiful
It hangs to the middle of his
shoulder blades in golden waves
Shining in the dark like a beacon
He smiles at me and I feel
my heart drop into the pit
of my stomach and float back up
He's a God, and lo, he speaks
and his voice even in a whisper
is strong and sure
I'm dancing in his arms to a
magical waltz before I know it
I'm feeling his atrong
arms surround me
and holding me firm
in the circle of them
As he spins me in his web
and leads me with
the flow of the music
as graceful and elegant
as a swan
We walk around the garden
to a well hidden gazebo with
a light touch of his arm
on the small of my back
We gaze into one anothers
eyes and speak of our lives
Spinning tells of dreams
wished upon
Things not yet done
and to come
I feel safe in his presence
I feel beautiful and alive
I invision in my minds eye
fairy tales told of long ago
Love and romance and it is
him I see, with me
I am his sleeping beauty
He is my dragon slaying prince
I am his Juliet and he my Romeo
I feel a wetness dripping
on my face and it brings
me out of the fog and
into the light only to
see that I am alone
That there was no prince
No Romeo come to waltz
me away in the night
I am but sitting in my
garden with fresh rain falling
on my face bringing reality
Taking the dream that
seemed so real that I
can breath the essence
of him in and believe
that just maybe
I had for that brief moment
my own fairy tale

Don't we all have a fairy tale inside of us some where? I know we writers do!! I have several!
