A Date With A Srar Contest Hopeful

This poem was actually written for my sister Brenda who is an avid Soap Opera Addict and is hopelessly in love with a character by the name of John Black on the Soap 'Days Of Our Lives'... Anyway, she wanted to enter a contest the Soaps were having a few years back-- the winner of said contest would get to have an evening out with her favorite Soap Opera Date ... The guide lines for entering the contest were simple in so many words or less you had to tell why you wanted to have this date of a lifetime ... Sadly, she did not win but she did receive an autographed photo which was just fine with her. Oh, not to worry Brenda's hubby didn't mind, he knows of her addiction to this sinfully handsome hunk and doesn't mind in the least--he has a fantasy woman or two on the side as well... (smile) ...

There once was a girl from Kentucky
After hearing your invite felt lucky

The contest to enter
The prize for the winner
Was to have dinner with her favorite
Soap Opera Star

My reasons for entering are numerous
A few reasons quite humorous

To tell you the truth
It stems from my youth
The Stars... The Lights... Oh, T.V....

What girl in her right mind
Wouldn't love to be dined
In an atmosphere fitting a queen

With Prince Charming on her arm
With his muscles and charm
It would be like fullfilling a magical dream ...
