FEMME SUR UN OREILLER
I am
Woman on a Pillow;
Not mother,
Not lover,
Nor colleague,
Nor friend;
Simply splodge on a bed
With angular head -
Angles of myself
Discerned only by
Contorted view:
Twisting the mirror
I find eyes askew,
Two lips parted,
Body unrecognisable
But for sizeable features -
Like alien creatures -
Drawn into odd poses,
Into differing frames,
And hence the loss
Even of my name;
I am just
Being
woman on a pillow.
