RAINBOWS IN THE SAND
The wind puffs its cheeks, blowing out gales,
Boats fighting mounting waves soon lose sails,
Rivers overflow banks and chaos floods the land,
Houses and lives ruined, despite bags of sand.
Noah’s Ark came adrift upon a shore one day,
And the dove of peace was sent with hope away.
Winds of love from above drove that dove on its
While wilder gusts bowed with respect, for once in
Along the seashore the wayward winds catch my
As I wander alone on my journey; I still know not
I shall end up amidst the tides of change that have
An arc in my life too: all I know are the lessons
A light breeze suddenly softens the wind, and
Are glad to slacken; I stop and stare, trying to be
Brave enough to pass under the arc, knowing not
where I shall go, like prophets in the sands,
Where shall we set off next? Free now I know I am.
