"WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT!
NO! WE AIN'T GONNA TAKE IT!
WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT,
ANYMORE!"

It came out in '86 or so-
Doesn't matter now-
A lot of metal bands sang
NEVER SURRENDER
TAKE CONTROL
FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS
Ad Infinitum.
But THIS
ANTHEM
RULED
the airwaves.
Every kid in America had the album
You heard the song every hour on the hour
Twisted Sister went from Sideshow to Stardom.

Why I say it doesn't matter now
Is because since then
We're drug-tested at every turn
Get fired like rockets every other month
Lost our social security
Get taxed to hell and back
Have cameras watching our every move
And get jailed or shot for any reason.

I guess you ARE gonna take it.
Maybe that's why
You don't hear that
Anthem
Any more...
