They really need to put up a category just for darkness... for this is not necessarily horror

As time ticks slowly away
A life winds down today
Pool of blood
Of a so called life
Forms at the feet
Of a body left for dust
Tattered and torn
Are the clothes
Ripped to pieces by despair
End this now or suffer the cost
Kill me swiftly
With that I do trust
Kiss of death
Set me free
This wanton soul
Yearns so desperately
Forced to live against my will
Live to serve and never ill
My life is no life at all
Conquered and broken
To the ground I fall
I whisper a thank you
To the hand that holds the knife
Treat me tenderly
And love me bright
Alas the dreamer must awaken
The light of hope slowly weakens
Lost in the light of those around
Surrounding me with anger
And bury me within the ground
A living grave marked in blood
That is what I pray to the stars above
Set me free this very day
Let me be what I yearn to be
To run so swift on paw of four
Soft and downy fur and claw
Hear my lonesome howl this eve
As I call from the darkness
To the pack I once shadowed
And in that howl that one true tone
The one that warns them
My avengance will arrive
Heed my words with silent fear
Don't let me find you
Or you will pay dear
See my fangs glint in the soft moonlight
As I snarl and growl at you this night
Found you I have
And will make you pay
For the sorrow and pain
I've felt till this very day
Rip out your heart and savour the flavour
Dine upon your body dear
Keep me strong your flesh will do
While I hunt down all the others
Who've brought me so much despair
