Walk Me

It's dark out
No lights
No moon or stars
Walk me to my car
Don't let me go by
Myself, the stillness
Hurts, it will slice my
Mind and thieve it
Into the night
My screams won't be
Mine, they'll belong
To the dark and be
Heard by the frightened

I could hear my own heart beating out of my chest. I regressed to my newspaper days when putting the paper to bed and leaving the office in the wee hours alone. I felt fear in those days. Now I will never be a victim.

Love the verse even though it makes that chill return. Its good to remember different passions...even fear at times.

Love and peace,
Susan
