I Pledge Allegiance To The Flag Of
The United States Of America
For Which It Stands UNDER GOD
Indivisible With Justice For All
We stood as children facing our flag in recital to our flag
We used the words under God
My how times have changed us
When we take away God
There will not be debate
Of which you are left, or right
God has forged this nation
Let us never forget the sweat, and pain, our Fathers endured
They were under God
Our nation is great because of our fathers
Why are we omitting the words
Under GOD

Thank God courage is in the house! I loved your poem it`s up front truth no corners cut and no rocks unturned. Our whole nation is changing faster then we can blink its sad to see those days which kept us together for so long now being swept away before our very eyes things will never be the same again.

I agree. To me, GOD is symbolic of the knowledge that being freely spiritual and aspiring to become a person of fairness and goodliness is the true nature of all beings who live in this spectacular cosmos...may we all become godly in our journeys.

Nicely done piece, Tony. :)

The people who want the words "Under God" taken out of the Pledge, are the very same ones who take the standard charitable giving decudtions on their income tax. "Can't have it both ways. Good write. I'm with you on this one.
