Years ago a young girl dreamed
of love and wealth and family.
And God saw fit to grant her wish
and showered her with blessings three
And showed her how rich life can be.
The dream was mine. The girl was me.

And through the years I watched them grow
from tiny babes to active teens.
From dolls and balls and trucks galore
scattered across the kitchen floor
To cars and dates and music loud.
I love you all. You've made me proud.

Nature iced us in the other day.
All of us were stranded here.
It reminded me of the early years
when I'd wipe away those "boo boo" tears;
when Big Bird ruled and games were played
Of peanut butter and marmalade.

Tonight the house is quiet again.
You each have gone your seperate way
With loves of your own and dreams to pursue
and life choices to make that you hope will come true .
You don't know how much I am missing you.

Years ago? What did I say?
It only feels like yesterday.

You have really hit the nail on the head with this one. It reminds me of my own kids, and how on certain days things remind you of when they were young. Such fond memories. Thanks for the reminisce.
