Shades of envy and greed
Stroll behind my need,
As I examine my dirty fingers,
Marveling to see, myself so soiled,
And liking it...

Till of shadowed quarters,
Tinkling into rhymes,
Hitting reels confined
To thoughts between the line,
I'm loving it...

Metallic lights sublimed,
Sinking into mind,
Leaving tastelessness behind,
A parody of mine,
And I'm hating it...

Lost Wages, what I call Vegas, 'cause it's true - hard enough to come up with money in the first place, what makes one think I want to throw it away on frivalous frippery? Bad enough throwing it at the gas station and grocery store: everything keeps going up except the paycheck!!!! Can't afford to gamble. Even a dollar lottery ticket out of the budget. :(

An excellent write, Erin.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

"And I'm hating it..." Yep, that's me. I'm so not a gambler. I cringe as my money disappears. Love the subtle rhyme scheme.
