Kindness, caring, love, are always last in todays competition.

A race to nowhere
winning some money
trophy that collects dust
nice for the moment?

seems everything we do
it has to be done better, or faster
look at me dog!
Iím the winner
and will die if I donít stay that way

My bombs are bigger than yours
My money is more than yours
My game is better than yours
My love for my fellow man?

What the hell?
I canít compete
with that
you won.

Ron, read my poem "They Don't Give Out Medals." It captures the same sentiment in song. What do you get for second place ... Just egg on your face. Bill

Interesting piece, Ron. Perhaps the competitive crowd is swayed towards these ends, but it is the individual who is important, the ones who don't care if they won, but how they played the game. I used to think me, as a single voice, could not change anything, but I have learned different due to many friends of like mind I've met on the net. Take each kind word and pass on two more, each kind act, and double it, that is the foundation that must be layed, and kept in place with solid values...seems impossible, yet, it takes one voice to reach anothers mind. :) Love your artwork!!
