I ask for the sunlight,
To show me the day.
I ask not for the six o clock news,
To tell me what’s going on today,
|
|
I ask not for a road map,
To show me the way,
I ask for the sunlight,
To show me the day.
I ask not for the six o clock news,
To tell me what’s going on today,
I ask instead that I allow myself,
More time to pray.
I ask not for expensive clothes,
Instead I ask for the warmth of the Sun.
I ask not for million dollar mansions,
Just a place to call home.
I ask not for the goods of the world,
Instead I ask I always follow Christ.

| Michelle, very good poem. the simpler parts of life sometimes don't come easy but they are better thoughts than what you can find on the 6:00 o'clock news. |

A very nice inspirational piece. I think following the path of Jesus is our best medicine.

| Michelle, the news can drive one coocoo! It gets worse and worse, cause we are all expecting something to happen. A war to start and each day we thinks brings us closer and closer to it. I know how you feel. Bill |
