Broken glass..mangled steel
None of this seems real
Lost control..hit a tree
Blood everywhere..covering me
Police standing all around
Sirens making an errie sound
Hey policeman, I'm over here
I talk but no one can hear
I look inside the tangled maze
Standing here in a daze
Oh God, inside the car theres me
Oh no, How can this be?
I'm right here , look this way
"This man is dead" I heard him say

NO, that just can't be true
I'm standing here watching you
I have a child and loving wife
Dear God, please give me back my life
I'm not dead, I'm walking around
Beer cans the policeman found
I only had a few, please help me
Look my way..why can't you see?
I watch you as you carry me away
If I could only bring back yesterday
I just stand here in the pouring rain
Somewhere theres a whistle of a train
Lifes blood staining the ground below
I can't be dead, It can't be so...

Very powerful! I wrote a similiar poem, wierd thinking of death and what it'll be like. The loved one left behind to grieve, seem so unfair!

Linda, another beautiful, empathic poem. You feel so deeply for others, and have so many wonderful, caring qualities and I do love you for the sweet, wonderful woman you are. Although from very far away and never to close the distant gap. If things every change in your life, I will be waiting for you. But I want you to be happy and feel love surrounding you from where you are. Cause if you are happy; then so am I, but like the song says, if you are ever lonely,
"Just Call My Name And I'll Be There." But I expect nothing from your except your friendship. YOU ARE A GREAT WRITER AND A GREATER PERSON. How could I not love you? Can't we be friends again? Bill
