A very clear argument for correcting a failed educational approach with not only indictment of our system, but also with real solutions...

Fading Twilight

Fading Twilight

in the fading twilight we walked
darkness fell upon us
shadows closed about us
in the dimness before light
the sun set, the moon yet
to arise, the stars yet
to glow, the shadows danced
to know, the darkness was anew
we held each other entranced

the shadows fell upon us
as darkness walked on us

we ran for a window glow
into the fading twilight
we ran laughing
the night fell from the sky
the only light
was the fading afterglow

we felt a breeze in our faces
the wings of fright flapped
rushing us into shadows
the light from the window
played upon our minds
like phantom time

the moon appeared to our delight
the shadows slipped further
from our minds out of
sight
the stars winked at us
the light enveloped us
in the cloudless formless
night
reveling at our plight
we giggled at our fright
kissed passionately
in the corners of our hearts
from our eyes emerged
in fading twilight
a thought

Beautiful free verse.
Flows nicely.
I keep saying that over and over, but darn, it surely does.
