My girls are growing up too fast!!

The Things I値l Miss

Your little hands so soft and small,
that hug my neck with a trusting squeeze.
One day, you値l be too embarrassed to hug me all of the time.
And I値l miss those tiny hugs;
such small embraces filled with such a big amount of love.

Your little smile that shows your tiny teeth
when you laugh at the puppy as he licks your feet.
One day, you値l be busy and you won稚 have time to play with the dog.
Boys and stories from your friends will be the things that make you smile
And I値l miss that baby smile; so easily amused.

The way you gobble up everything around you
with a voracious curiosity to know what everything is.
One day, you will have abundant knowledge of the things that interest you
and your interests will have changed.
Papers and spoons and Happy Meal toys
will no longer be fun things to play with.

Your 吐resh out of the bath baby smell
that fills my senses and makes my spirit take flight.
Soon, you will be big enough to bathe yourself
and I値l miss holding you on my lap, wrapped in your Minnie Mouse towel,
smelling your little head.

The precious way you fold your hands
as you remind me not to forget our bedtime prayer.
One day, you will pray by yourself and you wont need my help.
to remember the words.
You値l talk to God one on one and not just at nighttime.
Speaking every word clearly, no need for me to say the words for you anymore.

The weight of your tiny body resting on my chest
As you fall asleep to my singing and snore lightly in my ear.
One day, you値l have babies of your own; the sleepee instead of the sleeper
You will feel your baby痴 arms wrapped around your neck before bedtime,
And see her smile as you sing her to sleep; melting in the smell of her freshly washed hair,
Only then will you understand why I will be missing my baby.

My kids are grown now, but the toddlers they once were still visit me in my dreams. We'll always have our babies.

Sweet one.
Children are like corn rows. You can hear them grow.
