IN THE NAME OF GOD
Children softly praying,
In a place where they feel safe.
The wooden pews inside the church,
Lined up with each in place.
The musky smell of incense,
Creeping into little noses.
As each recites the rosary,
Kneeled down in perfect poses.
Small faces look into the eyes,
Of one they can rely on.
The priest who gives them guidance,
A soft shoulder there to cry on.
In God's name he gains their trust,
While stalking innocents to claim,
Planting nightmares in their psyche's
For a life of fear and shame.
This sacred man of God awaits,
To lead them one by one,
Into the bowels of stained glass walls,
Deflowering our Sons.
Small sacramental offerings,
Beneath the holy cross.
Perversion "In The Name Of God",
Disguised as a Man of the Cloth.

Awesome expression of what so troubles your heart. The depth of this betrayal may never be known, but I rejoice as victims are empowered to break the hold authority figures have on them.
Children need a voice, and they have one in you.
God bless you!

|This is a powerful write..I agree with everything ROR says below..all priests are not like that...the entire catholic church and it's people are not like that...they are ashamed..there are men like that in all places..I was in a christian church and the minister left the church and his wife and ran off with the secretary..I am not catholic...but I do respect them...and all believers in God...there is garbage everyplace you look...this was a good write...powerful and from your heart...I hope it did not happen close to home..it is a heartbreak..Floria|
