Childs Play

Indolent with play
my boat sailed
upon wakes of solitude,
solace washed over frowns
of yesterdays neglect.

Mommy loved me
she said,
I reflected that love
with multitude tones
of black on blue.

With eyes of dismay
my smiles lied
to strangers,
they saw
only a clumsy child.

Oh...this is cutting, Tracey, and so well wrought as to chill my heart.

So sad about children of today, that they should be so hurt and abused. Excellent poem.
