80 miles and hour
Standing on the skid
Tree tops nipping at my feet
Free fire zone Victor Zulu 2 o’clock
Lock and load

Movement in the brush
I squeeze the trigger of justice
Sentence of death screams out
Walk the tracer glow in

How many lives saved
For each one taken
How many have been avenged

Acrid smell of Chinese miracle
Coats gleaming casings
As they fall spinning to the ground

Streaming protests of the unjust
Ventilate my aluminum ship
Wounded she turns for the nest
Where caring hands will patch her
And prepare her for our next trip

Bertram, this was an excellent write. You had me dancing the treetops with you. Justice comes in all shapes and forms.

Hey Tom,

Ya know..this was always my favorite of yours, because you have taken us there, to that place with you, and we feel and hear that battle taking place..

Love it Tom!

"Acrid smell of Chinese miracle" - yes, odd how something capable of delighting the world with spectacular fireworks in the sky, has instead been used to assure many more will die.

Good write about the fight. It's good that you can vent through your writes. I have similar experiences as yours. I'm still having nightmares. tkcare Grady
