the hit in you the gut
knock you down kind
suck the air out
can’t breathe
can’t be happening kind
even if you
know it’s coming
even if……..don’t make it any easier
messes with life
so many times
in grief
we scream
why why why
how could this happen
we can’t grasp
that someone we love
could be
that our life is forever
we can never again look
at that particular person
and say
what’s up
I have a trick for this grief
been using it since my grandma died
thirty one years ago
not dead I say not Dead
on Vacation
Out Of Town
hanging at the beach
hanging at a cabin
touring the world see
and I will
see her again
just a little break
breather from Reality
it’s cool-not really Gone
just hanging
mind game
grief easer
and who knows
it’s true
we all gotta do what we all gotta do
to get through

LOVED IT!!!! Sounds like a matter of fact, sitting at the kitchen table with coffee, just hanging out kinda conversation about some real life stuff. Boy do I wish I were one of your girlfriends. I could get stuff like this all the time.

Love this form, Josie! Throwing out the punctuation and just depending on the line breaks to direct the reader...superb!
