Thank God for soldiers now and past

And the sacrifice they gave

So that this flag we call Old Glory

Will in this land forever wave

Every time I see our flag

Against a clear blue sky

The patriot inside of me

Makes it so hard not to cry

To see the waving Stars and Stripes

Deeply moves my heart

It represents a mighty country

Of which we are a part

So knowing how I feel

It should come as no surprise

When I saw someone burn our flag

I could not believe my eyes!

This "nut" was an American

Perhaps he suffered too much heat

For he was burning up Old Glory

While dancing in the street

I ask of you, flag burning crowd

Does this to you make sense?

For the flag is no more than a rag

Aside of what it represents

All you are burning up is fabric

Can you not see this, you clowns?

But you are making lots of people mad

You might consider leaving town.

But if youíre trying to kill for which it stands,

If that is truly your desire?

Then I got news for you my friend

You can not build that big of fire!

Amen to this one, Jack! I love our flag and what it represents. Long may she fly!

Excellent write Jack,,I've never witnessed the actual burning of our Flag, I'm not sure what reaction I would have toward the idiot that was doing the nasty deed. Rip his head off would be my first reaction I'm afraid. But when I see some of the things that are going on these days,,,I seem to recall an old saying that went something like this: Father forgive them for they know not what they do.
I seem to be repeating that alot lately! God Bless our Troops, Our President, God Bless the USA,,,and her Allies! Lisa

They may burn the flag.now...but will never be able to burn the spirit my friend....I agree with you....not that I am american but are a lover of God and we ALL must stand together hand in hand in front of Our Master one day
That will be the time when those bastards will get into that same fire of Hell

Jack, how can anyone see it differently than you see it. We are with you when you
express your anger at this act. How can one be american and destroy our flag. Bill

Amen Jack,
An excellent patriotic write,
I say "if you don't like it, leave it" get out.

"Our freedom, is the envy,
Of the rest of the world,
Those who can't have it,
Go out of their way, to distroy it."

These folks have no values. They don't know what the word means, and have never been taught it by the people who were to give them a value model. Someone said 'you can't teach people about rungs in a ladder to sucessful living, if they do not know there is a ladder.
They are anul...and that's what they think with.

A heartfelt poem, certainly appreciated by me and many others.

It seems to me that I heard sometime ago that it was against the law to destroy or desecrate the flag (U.S or Can.)? In my opinion if someone burns a flag of the country they live in it should be punishable by law as an act of treason against the country and citizens of the country. This is one act that makes me extra mad so I guess that's why these sick minded people do such things. They have no pride in their country and no respect for their fellow man, especially those brave people who fought and died for their freedom. We can't control what the poor uninformed idiots do in backwards countries but there certainly should be some laws to stop these sick minded people from performing such acts of treason in our country. It's well past time that such acts were punished by the full wrath of the law!

I can understand how you feel. Seeing someone burn the flag of the country that you are protecting is sad. I hope everyone will just think first before they do anything; and also consider the ones who are being sent to war and walk in their shoes and feel for them. Take care everyone!
