It's about that guiding voice inside of me. Sometimes I am so sure it is Devine and other times I wonder if I am just a bit crazy.

Is it apparitions that I see
And are they really here with me
Or lurking underneath my bed
Reading thoughts inside my head

Voices telling right from wrong
Their melody a haunting song
Is it truth or is it lies
Or just my thoughts in fine disguise

The voice of reason? Maybe so
But how am I to truly know
If it is how I should react
Or just ignore and donít look back

Are all the words a psycho dream
Or are they simply as they seem
Guiding words from deep inside
Voices of my spiritual guide

So strange these thoughts and voices be
Always here inside of me
Reminding me Iím not alone
Then guiding me quite safely home

Is this a spirit of which I speak
Or a force of nature at itís peak
Do I dare to hear the voice
Or is it wisdom without choice

Itís quite perplexing I must say
To hear the voices every day
The words of reason and of hope
Seem inspiration to help me cope

Perhaps theyíre angels by my side
Or maybe thatís just foolish pride
Possibly theyíre just a crutch
And maybe Iím, quite frankly, nuts

All great poets flirt with the edge of sanity. Your writing is GREAT! I shall return to read more.

Ah, yes, to wonder whether it's angelic inspiration or your own nuttiness. Great thoughts, Sherry.

What a thought provoking poem Sherry! I can identify with this. Sometimes I feel it's merely a lack of confidence, a distrust of our own instincts. The voices represent the doubts, fears and insecurities ...they ask the questions.Sometimes we need the strength to tell them to be quiet! This is excellent.

Sherry, we all have an inner voice. It helps keep us on course. But when there is more than one voice, sometimes we are having deep conflicts and need outside help.
Or sometimes we just accept them and go on through life. Bill

Listen intently to that inner voice...if it feels right then it is the best choice one can make. If it conflicts and gives agony to thought...then it is best ignored as passing thought only. Great write.

Very good Sherry. You've put your finger on what most of us think about. At least I do, A LOT! It's a "spiritual quest" we all go on sooner or later. The trick is, learn to tell which voice is which. Not always easy.

If it leads, it is wrong.
If you follow with discretion, it is right.
Religion has killed more minds than any war.
God is having a heart attack.
Very good thoughtful poem. We've all been there, I think. And then we begin to think.

We always have an inner voice telling us what to do, and this inner voice is guided by our angel.

Good write Sherry!
