The wonders of the birth of a child
their first steps into this world
as their eyes open wide to behold this
life
now what waits for this boy and girl
from small lips, spring their first word
In amazement-thought! Did I say that?
what is this mystery, the little mind wonders
as chubby fingers reach's out for the cat
watching colors, swoop pass his head
hearing the rustling's of something near
but, wait a minute" someone's wearing it
oh' no problem, it's just mother dear
I hear the sound of footsteps clumping my way
could it be they want to sat and talk
well, that may be hard, seeing I only know one word
besides, I'm working first on how to walk
You see I know the world is waiting for me
and I pray that it will be kind
for I have hopes and dreams to fulfill
so be patient and give me a little time
