This piece was a very different experience for me. It literally woke me up from my sleep and just came to life just as you see it.

So near, but yet so far
Though I give you my all
you don't recieve it
I share myself with you
mind, body, soul
and spirit
Still
you don't receive me
I bear your children
I bear your burdens
I bear your anger
your hurt
and your frustrations
and still
you don't receive me
Once I was your Queen
and reigned with you
in pride and dignity
Now I'm just your lover,
but not your wife
Why won't you receive me?
I have been with you
since the beginning of time
I was created for YOU
I was God's gift to YOU,
to love, and to give love to you
But you won't recieve me
You continue to allow
a man of another color
to rape and abuse me
while YOU seek his acceptance
Everywhere I turn
you, my king, deny me
with words, names and gestures
too ugly to be seen by anyone
but that are seen
and heard by all
You deny me
and you deny your
sons and daughters
Don't you know
that our union
has already been ordained
by God
Don't you know
that we (your family)
can never be complete
without you
Nor you without us
When will you
return us to a position of glory?
WHEN will you, my king,
reclaim your throne?

I think this is a very strong personal view of life for others as well as life for the author. There is merit in the wording, a message for those that will listen.
